Bellingham Life

Saturday at Zuanich Park

Scene In Bellingham

Today I discovered what it's like in Zuanich Point Park in the summer.

I rarely go outside, but today I ventured out to Zuanich Park with Bellingham Photographer Mark Whitney and his kid. It was a popular location for a sunny Saturday, and yet there was plenty of open space to explore.

The Whatcom Commercial Fisherman’s Association was hosting its annual Fisherman’s Memorial and Blessing of the Fleet at Squalicum Boathouse, filling the park with the scent of BBQ and the sound of music. I saw huge, colorful kites flying high in the sky, while Mark pretended to lose control of Serenity’s tiny My Little Pony kite flying low to the ground.

I am glad to be back indoors cozying up with some coffee. But, all in all, it was worth going outside today.
